How can I give a gift subscription?
Someone gave me a gift subscription and I already have a subscription. Does that mean I have two subscriptions?

subscriptions@brainchildmag.com.
Publication Schedule
How often is Brain, Child published?
Brain, Child is published 4 times per year, in March, June, September and December.
When will I get my first issue?
It often takes 4 to 6 weeks to get a new order set up. There may be a wait for the next issue to be printed and mailed.
I am giving a gift subscription to Brain, Child. Which issue will the gift subscription start with?
As a general rule, we start all new subscriptions with the current issue (the one out on newsstands now). However, if we receive the order 2 -3 weeks before the next issue is due out, we will wait and start the new subscription with that one. So, for example, if we receive your order for a subscription anytime between June 1 and August 15, your first issue would be Summer. If you order after August 15, your first issue would be Fall.
If you would like your gift to start with a particular issue, you can let us know, either on the order form, or by sending us email at
subscriptions@brainchildmag.com.
Renewals
How many issues do I have left in my subscription?
Check the mailing address label on your most recent issue. There should be a line telling you which issue will be your last.
Why do I get so many renewal notices before my subscription has ended?
We send out 3 renewal notices because extensive magazine industry testing shows that most people forget or ignore renewal notices until it's nearly too late. If you renew with the first notice, you won't receive any others.
Back Issues/Sample Issues
How can I order back issues?
Can I have a sample copy of Brain, Child for free to see if I like it?
Unfortunately, we don't offer free copies of Brain, Child to prospective subscribers. As a small, independent magazine, we don't have the resources to give away "freebies." We publish only four times per year, so a single copy is one quarter of our year's product. Every copy must contribute to our still small bottom line.
You can order a single copy, however, for the low low price of $5 (less than you'd pay on most newsstands!) Click
here to get a copy of our latest issue.
Or simply go to
www.brainchildmag.com/subscribe
Or send a check or credit card information to PO Box 714, Lexington, VA 24450
You can also see sample articles and full tables of contents at our web site. They are articles that actually appear in the magazine, so they give a good flavor of what Brain, Child is like.

Late/Missing/Damaged Issues
Why am I missing an issue?
There are a few reasons you may have missed an issue of Brain,
Child:
- You have moved and we don't have your new address.
Sometimes even when you place a forwarding order with the
post office, your new issue of Brain, Child may not make
it to your new address. If this is the case, simply send
an email to
subscriptions@brainchildmag.com with your old address, your new
address and which issue you missed. We will either replace the missing
issue (if possible) or extend your subscription.
- We may have made an error. In this case, we will send you a
replacement issue or extend your subscription. Just email
subscriptions@brainchildmag.com and tell us which you prefer.
- The post office may have lost it. This happens regularly.
We are happy to replace missing issues for free. Email us
at
subscriptions@brainchildmag.com.
Why are the magazines sometimes at the newsstand before I get my copy at home?
Most distributors take a couple of weeks to get the magazine from their warehouse to the retail store. Our shipping schedule anticipates this delay. In addition, the U.S. postal service treats small magazines such as ours with less priority than others. Depending on where you live and the quirks of your local post office, it can take anywhere from 7 to 21 days after our mailing house puts the issues in the mail for it to get to you.
Privacy
What is your privacy policy ?
